The ancient arts of China and Japan derive their aesthetic principles from Taoism and Zen Buddhism; the two dominant principles being wabi and sabi. Wabi is a quiet contentment with nature, simplicity and reality. Wabi is a way of life in which materials used are organic, form is shaped naturally, textures remain rough, variegated and random; colours are muted and a sense of beauty is achieved in subtle and sometimes barely perceptible detail.
Wabi Umalas was conceived from a desire to create a villa environment that would distinguish itself architecturally as well as be attractive as an investment. Our vision is to create villas that are treasured by owners as their vacation home, as well as be remembered and revisited by guests from around the world.
Wabi Umalas strives to bring together the best aspects of villas and boutique hotels; giving the privacy and personality of a stand-alone villa but with outstanding service.
