VILLAS

Environmental
Concept

By using the natural elements of the land as architecture, the Wabi appears to be landscaped into the environment rather than simply built on it.

The architects, without compromising their principles, have sought solutions that blend style with nature without threatening the environment. The buildings utilize gardens and ponds for their roofs, creating an aesthetic beauty with clever functionality; the pools and gardens acting as a natural "passive" cooling system for the spaces below.

This theme of melding contemporary style with nature through low impact, eco-friendly ideas is repeated throughout the villas. Ideas such as maximising the use of natural light and natural ventilation, using solar for water heating, or linking garden irrigation needs to recycled water systems all show a development constructed to meet the principles of an ecologically sustainable design.
